Lukas Masopust

Lukas is a Research Software Engineer at AIFS, where he designs and builds the institute's public-facing scientific data platforms. His work spans knowledge-graph interfaces, structured research databases, and interactive visualization systems, translating AI-driven food systems research into tools that are usable by researchers and the public. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science from UC Davis, where he studied information visualization and human-computer interaction under Prof. Kwan-Liu Ma. Lukas has led the design and development of several AIFS platforms, including FoodAtlas, the Dairy Molecule Database, the Preclinical Database, the Milk Composition Atlas, and the Byproduct Database, and is a co-author on a manuscript currently under review at Nature Communications.
