About

The transition from conventional to sustainable agricultural practices is leading to noticeable shifts in farm worker demands — requiring knowledge of cutting-edge technologies, such as drones, robotics, IoT, and artificial intelligence (AI). These workshops facilitate the transition to new technologies for both the current and future workforce.

During a two-day workshop, participants learn about advanced technologies being applied in the field today and innovations currently being developed. Workshops include talks from top researchers, as well as field demonstrations and hands-on activities.

The AgTech Workshop is offered for both educators and industry professionals.

The industry workshops allow growers, farm managers, extension agents, and other ag professionals to gain the knowledge and skills to embrace the next generation of agricultural innovation and remain competitive in the midst of a rapidly changing industry.

The educator workshops bring together high school teachers and community college instructors, giving them the skills to introduce their students to the idea of AgTech as a career.

The train-the-trainer component trains new instructors to lead educator workshops in more locations, reaching more teachers and in turn, more students. The educator workshops and train-the-trainer program help support the Farm Robotics Academy, helping to prepare teachers to mentor a student team.
