Isaya Kisekka
Associate Professor of Land, Air, and Water Resources, UC Davis
Researcher
Isaya is a professor of Hydrology and Agricultural Water Management within the department of Land, Air, and Water Resources and the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at UC Davis. He also holds the position of Director for the UC Davis Agricultural Water Center of Excellence, leading efforts to sustain groundwater use and promote irrigated agriculture.
Focused on enhancing sustainable water management in agroecosystems, Isaya's research centers on quantifying the impact of irrigation on crop production, water balance, water quality, and adaptation to climate change. His research spans various scales, from groundwater basins, farms, and fields to smaller, intricate scales like greenhouses and soil columns. Employing a mix of experimental studies and modeling techniques, his work contributes to a comprehensive understanding of water management.
Before joining UC Davis, he was an Assistant Professor of Water Management at Kansas State University, focusing on irrigation and groundwater sustainability issues within the Ogallala Aquifer region.
