Thank you to everyone who joined us for the AI Institute for Next Generation Food Systems Open House!

On 9/12, AIFS welcomed the AIFS advisory board and the general public, with the opportunity to view posters from 28 research projects undertaken by graduate student researchers from the University of California, Davis, University of California, Berkeley, Cornell University, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, UCANR, US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS).

Following the poster session we heard from David Wishart from the University of Alberta, about Applications of AI in Agrifood Informatics. We then hosted a talk by Abigail Stevenson, Chief Science Officer at Mars, reflecting on the challenges facing today’s food system and how AI can help.
