SAIL’ing away at Asilomar!

The inaugural Summit for Artificial Intelligence Institutes Leadership (SAIL) took place December 12-15 at the Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, CA. All 18 institutes were in attendance, representing more than 50 prestigious universities and colleges from across the country. As well, we were joined by leadership from the NSF, other federal agencies, and industry partners. With five keynote speakers, and multiple sessions on a wide range of topics, it was a significant opportunity for learning, sharing, and laying the groundwork for more collaboration to come.

This event and overall leadership for this program was provided by the AI Institutes Virtual Organization (AIVO), led by the AIFS team at UC Davis, and is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
