Technology is moving fast. Want to keep up? Learn the basics of artificial intelligence (AI) and discover how it connects to real-world challenges in agriculture and environmental science.
Students investigate indoor farming with hydroponics, sensors, and imaging tools, using data and digital twins to understand how AI supports modern food production.
What You'll Do
- Explore indoor farming and hydroponic systems used in modern food production
- Use sensors, imaging tools, and real-world data to understand plant growth
- Learn how AI supports precision farming through monitoring and decision-making
- Build and experiment with a digital twin to model and optimize growing conditions
- Tour an indoor farming facility and see AI-enabled agriculture in action
Who Should Attend?
High school students who are interested in food production, sustainability, and technology — no coding experience needed
Registration
AIFS's AI Tech Camp is free to attend and spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
This free summer camp is open to area high school students interested in STEM.
Note: This is a day camp, not overnight. Participants must provide their own daily transportation to and from UC Davis.

The High School Summer AI Tech Camp reflects AIFS's mission to equip the next generation with technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to build better food systems.
