Siegel is an Associate Professor of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Molecular Medicine and Faculty Director of the Innovation Institute for Food and Health at the University of California, Davis. He is also the Lead of Knowledge Transfer for AIFS, the USDA-NIFA/NSF Artificial Intelligence Institute for Next Generation Food Systems. His research involves combining computational and experimental tools to develop a fundamental knowledge of enzyme catalysis, and applying those principles to design novel proteins.
