Ilias is a Computer Science Professor at UC Davis, leading the Integrative Biology and Predictive Analytics lab. He also serves as the Director AIFS, the USDA-NIFA/NSF Artificial Intelligence Institute for Next Generation Food Systems.
With experience in advising and founding companies, particularly in AI for Life Sciences, his focus lies in data integration, modeling, experimental design, and decision-making under uncertainty, with practical applications in clinical and nutrition data.
Recognized for his contributions, he received the NSF CAREER award in 2013. Ilias holds a Master of Science degree from Columbia University (2003) and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University (2008).
